Governor refuses to answer simple yes or no question: have you hired a criminal defense attorney?

CHICAGO, IL - Illinois GOP Gubernatorial Nominee Judy Baar Topinka is asking Rod Blagojevich to be straightforward with the voters of Illinois and answer a very simple question: Have you hired a criminal defense attorney to handle the myriad investigations into your administration and personal finances?

During the joint visit to the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board on October 10, Rod Blagojevich refused numerous times to be straightforward and answer this question.

"We don't need a Governor who refuses the public right to know the answer to such a basic question before the election. All voters are left to wonder is : What's he hiding ?" Topinka asked.

•He refuses to answer the question about whether the man who gave him the famous $1,500 check ever gave him other cash gifts.

WHAT'S HE HIDING on other gifts of more than $500 he received but won't detail for voters?

•He refuses to detail the amounts and descriptions of the gifts of $500 or more that he took from his fundraiser friends Tony Rezko and Chris Kelly.

WHAT'S HE HIDING about criminal defense ?

•Now he refuses to answer whether he's hired a criminal defense attorney.
